Jorge Fossati’s side will be using the game to gear-up for their Group A opener with Uzbekistan on September 6, while DPR Korea are testing themselves against Gulf opposition ahead of their Group B curtain raiser against the UAE on the same day.
Qatar had been scheduled to play a friendly with Syria on August 23 but managerial issues with the West Asian nation forced them to withdraw from the fixture, according to the Qatar Football Association’s official website.
Meanwhile, the two-time Gulf champions will meet Korea Republic on November 14, five days before they host Japan in what will be the third round of Group A matches.
