Mark Hughes has been backed to remain Manchester City's manager by the
club's new owner, Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim.

City announced on Monday that a takeover deal had been agreed with the Abu
Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment (ADUG).

Hughes was handed £32.5million to buy Robinho from Real Madrid on transfer
deadline day, and Al-Fahim insists the former Blackburn manager will be
given more funds to strengthen the team.

"The coach Mark Hughes will stay, the chairman will stay and the technical
staff will stay as it is," he told Sky Sports News.

"We started negotiating to buy some more players but the transfer window was
our last chance to sign Robinho and we were able to obtain him and we were
lucky to be able to do that."

Al-Fahim has spoken of his desire to eventually sign Cristiano Ronaldo, Cesc
Fabregas and Fernado Torres, adding: "The opportunity to buy players for the
club is now closed but there will be other chances in the second part of the
season.

"The coach will choose the players and we as investors will assess his
choices, their abilities and their financial costs."
